Micro-needling system is a bio-stimulating treatment based on the use of mesotherapy, which uses transepidermal micropunture, to promote the synthesis of new collagen to increase the degree of skin firmness. This electronic device allows the opening of 80% more micro-channels than traditional rollers. Enabling a greater stimulation of collagen and elastin production, this treatment increases the capacity of the skin to absorb products aimed at rejuvenating and repairing tissue. At Dr Aguilar’s Clinic, patient safety is the priority. We use only devices approved by FDA and in the UK, and all treatments are performed by Dr Aguilar (GMC/BCAM registered ) who is highly experienced.
WHAT IS THE MICRO-NEEDLING SYSTEM?
The micro needling system is a breakthrough technique in the field of dermoepidermical bioestimulation, with minimal detrimental impact and rapid recovery. It allows us to treat all types of skin when there has been a loss of collagen and elastin, as well as offering effective treatment of scars,wrinkles, strech marks or sagging skin. Dermapen works as a skin repair treatment to significantly improve the appearance of large pores, fine lines and is an effective acne scar treatment. It can also be an excellent tool to tighten loose skin after weight loss.
THIS TREATMENT CAN BE COMBINED WITH ANY OTHER REJUVENATION TECHNIQUE OF FIRMNESS TREATMENT. IT CAN BE USED IN COMBINATION WITH PDO THREADS, RADIOFRECUENCY, CARBOXITHERAPY, MESOTHERAPY, ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS, DERMAL FILLERS, ETC TO IMPROVE THE RESULT.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
This device has a sterile cartridge consisting of 1-16 thin microneedles with a swivel head that allows micropunction at an angle 90 degrees. The device ensures that the correct insertion depth (from 0,25mm to 2,00mm) is maintained at all times, with minimal detrimental effect. This gently puncture to the skin, cause a series of traumatic punctures. The skin responds to this by naturally producing collagen and elastin to repair itself. The collagen and elastin created by micro-needling work to smooth and firm the skin, plumping out deep lines and improving the indented or red appearance of stretch marks or scars making it a popular acne scar treatment.
At the same time, active ingredients are applied ( hyaluronic acid, vitamins, silicium, aminoacids, minerals, PRP) allowing immediate penetration into the skin. With this technique we will induce a bioestimulant effect to produce collagen, elastin and neovascularization, which leads to an improvement in the texture, firmness and quality of the skin. This procedure can be performed in any area of the body and face. The results are gradual and more evident after 4 weeks.
HOW IS THE AFTERCARE?
After the treatment the skin may present redness or minor inflammation that lasts for 24 hours. After 3-4 days all the symptoms should disappear. Sun protection is recommended following treatment and strenuous exercise should be avoided for 24 hours.
HOW MANY SESSIONS ARE RECOMMENDED?
We recommend 4 to 6 sessions every 3-4 weeks and afterwards one session each 4-6 months is recommended. It may also be combined with other techniques to increase the effect and duration whilst obtaining a natural and progressive result.
For optimum results, a course of 3 – 6 treatments are recommended depending on your skin concerns:
• General skin rejuvenation / large pore treatment – 3 treatments recommended
• Remove fine lines and wrinkles – 6 treatments recommended
• Acne scar treatment or surgical scars – 6 treatments recommended
• Loose skin – 6 to 9 treatments recommended.
HOW LONG DO THE RESULTS LAST?
Rejuvenating results last for approximately 12 months. If Dermapen is used to treat scars or stretch marks, the improvements are permanent.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO COMBINE WITH OTHER TECHNIQUES?
This treatment can be combined with any other rejuvenation technique or firmness treatment. It can be used in combination with PDO Threads, Radiofrecuency, Carboxitherapy, mesotherapy, etc to improve the result.
